About Northstar Dental Partners

Dr. Lorne Tomalty started Tomalty Dental Care in 1977 after moving to Florida from Montreal, Canada. After practicing for 28 years, Dr. Jordan Tomalty joined the practice and worked alongside his father learning how to run a dental office, as well as appreciating the importance of treating patients like family. Those first few years were formative, and incredibly fun, as both father and son were able to work together to refine their mission and culture. They decided early on that creating an organization that purposefully prioritized their staff, patients and partners was paramount. Tomalty Dental Care would eventually transform into Northstar Dental Partners, a values-driven family of dental professionals who share a common goal of supporting transitioning dentists and provide the greatest possible patient experience. Jordan and Lorne wanted Northstar to be a guiding light for those wanting to sell their practice with the peace of mind that their legacy and commitment to their staff and patients remain intact.

The first Northstar de novo office was built in 2013 only a few miles away from the original Tomalty Dental Care office. As a result of the positive experience and rapid success of operating both offices, Northstar Dental Partners continued to expand by helping other dentists transition into their new role or into retirement, while consistently paving a pathway to a better lifestyle.

The family style culture that Northstar Dental Partners embraces comes straight from the founders’ own family philosophy. This has led to establishing long lasting relationships and industry leading retention rates among employees. Northstar Dental Partners has achieved a world class Net Promotor Score (measurement of employee happiness). What truly sets Northstar Dental Partners apart from other DSOs and Private Equity firms is the integration of the “DTRT” methodology. DTRT stands for “Do The Right Thing” and is the guiding principal for everyone within the entire organization, from front desk staff to the lead dentist. It is this strong held belief, to simply do what is right for our staff and patients, that has allowed Northstar Dental Partners to flourish throughout the state of Florida.

Dr. Jordan Tomalty continues to practice dentistry at the original Tomalty Dental Care location.
